Beer Festival Reminder

April 11th, 2011

The Lion Hart Beer Festival is making a new appearance this year over the Easter Weekend.

The White Lion, Sopwell Lane and ourselves will be hosting the event starting Good Friday, 22nd April and running until Monday 25th April.

The Beer Festival will feature over 35 different real ales, ciders and perries!

Also over that weekend is St Georges day so the Beer Festival will have an English theme (being called Lion Hart should help).

As well as a BBQ all weekend at both pubs, on St Georges Day (Saturday 23rd)  there will be a Hog Roast at the White Lion and at the White Hart Tap our Sausage Festival will be making an appearance.

On the Sunday there is live music on at the White Lion featuring Pete Waters and on the Monday at the Tap there is a family day with free food for the kids!

Curry Night

April 1st, 2011

Next Monday’s (4th April) curry will be Dopiaza, an Indian curry which literally means 2 onions as onions are added at two stages of the cooking process.

The curry will be available either with lamb, chicken, prawn or a vegetable option.

Other dishes will also be available on the night if you don’t fancy a curry.

Summertime is here! (ish)

March 29th, 2011

This is to be my Mungo Jerry blog as it will detail what will be going on at the Tap ”in the summertime when the weather is high” (or low for that matter).

So the garden is mowed and some new picnic benches are on order so more people can enjoy the sun and beer of course!

As I mentioned in a blog earlier this year we are having our own pub allotment this year in the private garden attached to the pub, all thie digging has been done and the seeds are being propagated ready for planting and later in the summer will be able to offer our home grown vegetables on our menu, from picked to plate in under an hour, doesn’t get fresher than that!

We have the Easter Beer Festival in conjunction with the White Lion to look forward to in the not too distant future, as well as the annual Lion Hart August Bank Holiday Beer Festival.

In July we will be celebrating Independence Day with a Music Festival and all American BBQ!

Also we will be hosting our International Food Nights on a more regular basis over the summer months.

So there you have a small sample of what we have coming up in the summer, we look forward to seeing you at some if not all of our events!
